Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice shorts, inconsistent fit I've been wearing Dickies cargo shorts for years, but these are my first pair of lightweight duck. They're a great material, as described, heavy duty, but lightweight enough to be comfortable for daily wear. I purchased 2 pairs of the same size, and they are both cut slightly different in the waist, as well as the size of the cell phone pocket and even the small pen pocket in the cargo area. I read a lot of reviews complaining about the undesirable cut of the slash pockets and didn't think it would really be an issue, but it's surprisingly difficult to use them due to the etremely narrow cut of the pocket. Overall they're nice shorts, I'm just not nearly as pleased as I have been with the cotton/poly blend that I've worn all the previous years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, comfortable I like these short and I'm glad I got them. They feel thick, durable and comfortable. Sizing is very off, however. I ordered a 34, which is my waist size in Dickies long pants (WP830, WP900, WP873) but when they arrived they were huge, more like 38. Labels all still said 34, so I assume they just run very large. I managed to wash/dry-shrink them down to about 36 but I have to wear a belt or they'll fall. It's ok, cargo shorts look baggy anyway, so it works. Others have mentioned that the 2 front pockets are narrow and tapered. This is true and it means my wallet won't fit (I live in NYC, no back pocket wallet wearing). Fortunately, the cargo holds and the phone pocket make up for the small front pockets.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No 2 pair fit the same and there different sizes The shorts all fit different. I ordered 6 pairs ando only 2 or then fit the same.. the other 4 are either to big or to small or to tight in the legs. There awesome shorts just fitment is all over the board. I didn't think a size 36 cause me make 10 different ways.. colors change sizing too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shorts, funky pockets The fit and finish is nice. Not as heavy as duck fabric normally is, but they are marketed as 'lightweight'. My only complaint is the oddly shaped front pockets. The pockets are almost funnel shaped. They get very narrow at the bottom. This leads to everything I put in my pocket getting wedged at the bottom. This is especially annoying with keys, as fishing them out can be challenging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too big I bought these shorts for work and they seem to be well made. I ordered them in a size 34 waist but when I tried them on they were at least a 36 or maybe even a 38 around the waist. They were ok with a belt and seemed to have shrunk a bit after the first wash. I expected a standard fit from a company like Dickies but am somewhat disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great fit, front pockets need some work. I recently ordered two(2) pairs of these cargo shorts and wore them each on several occasions this past weekend. They are very comfortable and durable as well. The cargo pockets are easy to access along with the cell phone/multi-use poscket(one of my favorite Dickies features). However, I am disappointed by the front pockets. The liners taper down to a one inch "point" making it impossible to reach the bottom with more than a finger. My 3 1/2" wide wallet barely made it halfway before getting lodged, and keys/change took way more effort to access than should be necessary. Were these pockets wider(like pockets on almost any other pants/shorts), I would have given this product a five-star rating without a second thought. As a person who appreciates(and requires) day-to-day functional apparel, I cannot overlook this major design flaw. Dickies, please fix this problem on a production level; these cargos deserve it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality I bought the same type of shorts I wore for a year for work. I wore the front of the short out so they began to rip. Great quality for what I put them through. My complaint comes from that I wanted same type, but the shorts I received were the same BUT the front side hand pockets are much smaller. I'm 6'1" with normal size hands for that size of a man, but hard to get coins and keys out of the pockets because the narrow down the deeper you put your hands in. I think you will understand if you compare the difference I mentioned. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still great -- but the front pocket is smaller I have long loved Dickies shorts and pants -- I now refer to these cargo shorts as "caregiver shorts" because, as my disabled wife's full-time helper, I can comfortably carry all the stuff I need to have with me -- cellphone, wallet, keys, pocket calendar & pen, napkins, tissues, etc. -- in its seven pockets, without the need for a backpack or (heaven forbid) fanny pack. BUT My newest pair of cotton cargo shorts have reconfigured front pockets that TAPER much more sharply, so you can't carry your wallet there. I don't want my wallet in a back pocket because that throws your back out of alignment when seated for long periods, and I prefer not to use a cargo pocket because it's harder to feel the wallet against your leg. Still, I've switched the wallet with my keys, and am hoping for the best. (A second, minor complaint: The all-cotton cargo shorts don't come in Regular fit, only Relaxed. The cotton/polyester blend cargo shorts do come in Regular fit.)
